Episode 206 - Patron Saint, Jay Johnstone

As we edge closer to Opening Day, we scratch that baseball itch for you this week as we discuss MLB putting the hammer down on batboys and girls, Lars Nootbaar-mania continues to run wild now in Japanese arcades, a minor league team choosing an alternate nickname we can kind of get behind and a bunch of great debuts. 
Our main topic this week is somebody who was granted immediate 2SN patron sainthood status, Jay Johnstone. This southern California kid went on to have a pretty good career on the field but his antics off of it are what let him ascend to the hallowed halls so quickly. With a great sense of humor and an easy target in Tommy Lasorda, Johnstone made his teammates, opponents and everybody else laugh equally after his playing days were over. 
In this week’s Wax Pack Heroes, we rip some 2003 Topps and get some great names we haven’t pulled before.
