This week we discuss walk up music as NFT’s, an very obscure Simpson’s baseball reference that is brilliant and dive into the thousands of players who have made their MLB debut on this date throughout September call up history. In our main segment, we talk with El Paso Chihuahuas play by play voice, Tim Hagerty. Besides calling the Padres AAA team’s action he also is an author & has a new book coming out next season called Tales From the Dugout. We agreed to drop the lawsuit if he came on to talk about some crazy stories he has from the minor leagues and he was nice enough to play a round of Wax Pack Heroes with us and a pack of 1997 Donruss.

We try to regain our spot on the top whiskey podcasts with some baseball related whiskey news from Big Papi, check in with Lars Nootbaar and check out some debuts from the past. In our popular Tales from the Dugout segment we found some stories of some odd umpires, a missed opportunity with a light hitting shortstop from the 60’s and some “oddities” of some players a century ago that we doubt seemed odd even at the time. Wax Pack Heroes sees us open some 2000 Topps this week where we find out about a former player who punched out Connie Mack’s great grandson and put some other’s in federal prison after being part of a mortgage fraud sting.

Mark is back and just in time to talk about a pitcher coming out of retirement, some jersey number oddities, a great Rickey Henderson story told by Will Clark and a debut by a recent Hall of Famer. Then, in this week’s main segment, we remember the incomparable Vin Scully. He was the voice of baseball to many growing up and to Dodger fans for over 60 years. He covered some of the most memorable games, baseball and others. We will listen to some of his most famous calls and curious stories. The All Star break is upon us and this week we take time out to remember some All Star Game mishaps. Mainly, alot of players wearing equipment that belongs to teams they do not play for. It’s like a game of musical batting helmets as players scramble to replace lost or forgotten equipment. Plus, we tracked down the Saturday Night Live skit with Tracy Morgan playing Jermaine Allensworth, get an update on a current player looking to wear real stirrups and have one of the biggest weeks of debuts ever.
