It was a crazy week in baseball & this episode was crazy too! Albert Pujols did a thing, we talk about it. Lars Nootbaar did some stuff, we talked about it! Creepy people watched baseball games, we talked about it! The Rays did some stuff with Bark in the Park, we talked about it! Bean Reardon umpired some games & was not afraid of a fight, verbal or otherwise. We talked about him! We played Wax Pack Heroes & pulled some of the most interesting cards ever, then we talked about Kevin Nash, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Pam Postma & Lenny Harris before Lenny Harris.

If you were left wanting more MLB weather-related names last week, we got you! Also a crazy story from Chicago about the 1919 World Series, Lars Nootbaar continues to be the best baseball player that sounds like a candy bar, a bunch of debuts including a Cleveland Spiders reference and the obligatory Seinfeld clip. The main topic this week is the planned contraction of two teams for the 2002 season that never happened, but some of the teams that were considered certainly are worth a look. This week we discuss walk up music as NFT’s, an very obscure Simpson’s baseball reference that is brilliant and dive into the thousands of players who have made their MLB debut on this date throughout September call up history. In our main segment, we talk with El Paso Chihuahuas play by play voice, Tim Hagerty. Besides calling the Padres AAA team’s action he also is an author & has a new book coming out next season called Tales From the Dugout. We agreed to drop the lawsuit if he came on to talk about some crazy stories he has from the minor leagues and he was nice enough to play a round of Wax Pack Heroes with us and a pack of 1997 Donruss.

We try to regain our spot on the top whiskey podcasts with some baseball related whiskey news from Big Papi, check in with Lars Nootbaar and check out some debuts from the past. In our popular Tales from the Dugout segment we found some stories of some odd umpires, a missed opportunity with a light hitting shortstop from the 60’s and some “oddities” of some players a century ago that we doubt seemed odd even at the time. Wax Pack Heroes sees us open some 2000 Topps this week where we find out about a former player who punched out Connie Mack’s great grandson and put some other’s in federal prison after being part of a mortgage fraud sting.
